Enterprise Success

Four Year 13 Enterprise students, photographed right with their Teacher Karen Rochford, Sina Schaal, Abigael Ayre, Elle Scurr and Ashley Cambell (absent) took out most of the awards on offer at Young Enterprise Scheme Southern Awards in Invercargill recently.

Their company called Back Black picked up the following awards:

• Excellence in Communication
• Most Innovative
• Product Design
• Best Business Plan
• Company Excellence Award
• Southland Young Enterpriser of the Year 2011 (Abigael Ayre)

In addition to the trophies the girls won a total of $700 in prize money, of which $300 will be used as a start-up loan for future Enterprise groups at the college.

They sold thousands of their All Black themed roll on face paint during the Rugby World Cup.
